A Home for Writers from Around the World

Started in 1993, the Geneva Writers’ Group brings together over 200 English-language writers from some 30 countries. We welcome this diversity of cultures. Our objective is to encourage all forms of creative writing in English and to create a supportive community ranging from fledgling writers to published authors with a growing backlist of titles.

Meetings are held monthly from September to June at the Geneva Press Club, with a program of writing workshops, critiquing sessions, and master classes. Every two years we hold the International Geneva Writers’ Conference at Webster University in Bellevue, alternating with a “Meet the Agents” weekend. We publish a biennial collection of prose and poetry, Offshoots, Writing from Geneva. And we coordinate small writing groups, a mentoring service, and the GWG Literary Prizes.

Whether partnering with Le Livre Sur les Quais book festival in Morges, launching our newest anthology, Offshoots 13, or putting on workshops and programs with a purpose, Geneva Writers' 2016-1017 season promises to be full-on learning and fun.

Our annual breakfast cruise from Geneva to Morges in September featured authors Pettina Gappah and Helen Dunmore; and a reading at Payot Rive in November featured Laura Kasischke and Wallis Wilde-Menozzi, who both read from their poetry and prose.

Our monthly Saturday workshops are always taught by a gifted lead instructor or guest instructor. Please check our scheduleSee you at the next event!
